Vivek Oberoi house hunting in Delhi

Vivek Oberoi is gearing up to play a middle class Dilliwala munda in the Sanjay Khanduri directed KISMAT LOVE PAISA DILLI (KLPD), and at the same time is making sure that he is surrounded by his loved ones during the film's schedule in National capital.

If a source close to the actor is to be believed Vivek is planning to have his entire family over in Delhi for some time of the two month period he is slated to shoot there from January to February. Since the Delhi schedule is a long one, Vivek wants to be able to spend some uninterrupted quality time with his family in whatever free time he gets in the middle of his shoot. He is also a big fan of 'Ghar ka khana', hence, putting up the family in a hotel didn't seem like a good idea. For the same, Vivek's representatives are busy looking for a suitable home in Delhi that can accommodate his entire family comfortably and can serve as a yearly vacation pad.

On Delhi's centenary on 12th December, Vivek tweeted saying (Happy 100th Dilli! The passion & vibrancy this city has only grows stronger every yr! Looking fwd to calling Dilli home for next 2 mths when I shoot my next!).

The source goes on to add that Vivek's date book is packed with shooting schedules all year long in 2012 and hence he wants to spend as much time as possible with his family. Also the entire family sees this as a good opportunity to enjoy the pleasant Delhi weather which is at its best during the January - February period.

The first schedule of Amit Chandrra's KLPD is set to be in Mumbai starting this week and will end by the last few days of the year, the unit then moves to Delhi in the New Year to finish the remainder of the film by mid February.

Vivek & Mallika to get dirty

The chemistry is now much spoken about and Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat are all geared up to do justice to the same. Amit Chandrra's KISMAT LOVE PAISA DILLI is going to show Delhi in a never seen light before. The film that was earlier called GYRAH CHALLIS KI LAST METRO is now called KLPD simply because all three elements Kismat Love Paisa come together in a fun crazy night in Delhi.

The film that highlights the glitter and glamour of Delhi would be shot in various locales of the capital. Post seeking permission to shoot in the Qutub Minar, the producer who had recently gone for a recce now decides to shoot at the famous Buddha gardens in New Delhi. The picturesque garden that is located in South of Delhi boast of paved pathways, lush landscaped lawns, blossoming flowers, streams, sloping terrain and huge trees. The garden which is known as the place for love birds would now make way for KLPD as it would be the first film ever to be shot there.

The film being based completely in Delhi will have several of Delhi's popular spots and since the story's about youngsters it was given that some portions were to include few spots frequented by youngsters like the Buddha gardens. Walk into Buddha Gardens, Delhi and rest assured of going completely red in the face. Your view will include men lying in the lap of their ladies, kissing them and playing with their hair. And they don't even mind having an audience. You might find a constable trying to hush them away, although some smart ones buy time from the cops by bribing them.

If our sources are to be believed these very scenes will be seen in your cinema halls soon. The film in question being the Sanjay Khanduri directed KISMAT LOVE PAISA DILLI (KLPD) that will have its lead pair consisting of Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat indulging in some PDA. The source also goes on to add that the producer Amit Chandrra himself being from Delhi selected all the locations for the shoot. Looks like post Vidya and Emraan, Vivek and Mallika are all geared up to get dirty.

What could be embarrass for Vivek?

What could be more embarrassing for a star, when reporters leave his press conference mid-way to attend another press-meet that is of greater significance?

Vivek Oberoi was in a similar situation when he was at a five star hotel in Mumbai to launch DVDs of his home production `Watch Indian Circus`. Reporters who had gathered for the launch of the DVD opted to leave the conference half-way to attend a press meet organised by the Bachchans at their bungalow Jalsa in Juhu. Apparently the DVDs hadn’t arrived on time.

What added to Vivek’s embarrassment was that his event manager was spotted distributing DVDs of his home production to media personnel just outside Amitabh Bachchan’s house.

Taking to a tabloid, a source said, “In the middle of the Bachchan event, we got a call and SMS from the organisers of the Vivek event asking us to come out and collect the DVD`s of Watch Indian Circus.”

It seemed to be an awful day for the actor, for that was not the only thing that went wrong with him that day.

His bodyguard indulged in a verbal spat with the security guards present at the hotel during security check.

Narrating what happened, an eye witness said, “Vivek Oberoi arrived at the suburban hotel around 3.30 pm for the press conference with his Man Friday and a personal security guard. The guard was carrying a licensed gun. When Vivek headed for the security check, he was on a phone call. He asked the hotel security to hang on with their metal scanners till he finished the call."

"Realising that Vivek was already inside, his personal security guard ran after his boss, without bothering to stop for the mandatory security check," added the witness.

"Vivek`s guard was carrying a gun. The hotel security got into a heated argument with the guard over this. The matter was escalated to the head of security of the hotel. The head met Vivek and informed him about the altercation that happened," said the witness.

But the actor had no idea about the fight that was going on.

A friend of the actor said, “Vivek`s guard was indeed involved in a verbal spat with the hotel security. But Vivek was inside the venue at the moment had no clue about what was going on.”

Vivek Oberoi goes nude for film

Remember Abhay Deol’s hilarious topless scene in Sanjay Khanduri’s Ek Chalis Ki Last Local? Now, in Gyrah Chalis Ki Last Metro, a sequel to the 2007 hit, Vivek Oberoi is likely to go a step further by doing a full monty.

Apparently, one of the crucial and hilarious scenes in the film requires
the protagonist (Vivek) to strip down to his boxers to save his life. At one point, his boxers too will be taken away.Vivek Oberoi

The makers plan to shoot the scene in a Delhi hostel among college students, and not on a set with actors. Largely based in Delhi, the film, produced by Amit Chandrra of Invincible Entertainment, will see Vivek playing a Punjabi boy.

Before narrating this scene to Vivek, Khanduri thought the actor might be uneasy enacting the scenes, so he decided to use a body double. However, Sanjay was surprised when Vivek refused to use the body double and insisted on enacting the scene himself.

Confirms Khanduri: “We are making Vivek do something he has never attempted before. But knowing him, we are sure he can pull it off perfectly. We will take a final call on the edit table, in terms of how much skin show is necessary.”

Interestingly, Vivek hasn’t only agreed to go by the script, but is also willing to shed all the bulk he has put on for his new film, Zilla Ghaziabad. He aims to get a lean look for this film. For a similar scene in the first film, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Khanduri spent a lot of time persuading Abhay to go topless. So, he was a bit skeptical this time. “We are really looking forward to shooting it. It sounds like a lot of fun,” says producer Chandrra.

Vivek to play the Punjabi munda

Vivek Oberoi seems to have hit the purple patch and has become hot property for various B Town Banners.

The actor has his hands full with potential block buster's like ZILLA GHAZIABAD where he is bonding big time with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi and also KRRISH 2 of the super hit Rakesh Roshan franchise. Going ahead, Abhay has already been stripped off from the sequel of EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL and Vivek has stepped into his shoes. Sanjay Kandhuri, who garnered critical acclaim for the original and made it a viable commercial venture as well, is back after 4 years with his pet project, GYARAH CHALIS KI LAST METRO.

Sanjay's lead actor Vivek is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to this film and reliable sources state that VO for the first time will be seen playing a middle class Punjabi munda and has already started research on the same .The actor in the past for various films of his has gone of the way to do research and this time around he is with a new plan and that's to give surprise visits to various Punjabi families in Mumbai adding to the desi masala quotient. He would be looking forward to learn their lingo, mannerism, body language and attitude. The sequel is being made on a way bigger platform and budget making it more commercial unlike the original. There is a lot of money riding on the sequel as the makers have decided to make it richer by adding more glamour and showcasing the glitz of Delhi and adding thrills at the Metro stations which would also play an important part in the narrative. Majority of the film will be shot in the Capital. The metro would also be playing an integral part in the film narration.

On Contacting Sanjay he stated, ''It was Vivek's idea to study his character closely and looking at his dedication and approach, what else can a director ask for.''

The film will be produced by Amit Chandrra under his banner Invincible Entertainment who had earlier co - produced the slick, stylish and critically acclaimed KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK along with Farhan Akhtar.

Sanjay Dutt plays tattoo guru to Vivek Oberoi

Actor Sanjay Dutt seems to have taken his colleague Vivek Oberoi under his wings. The two actors, who will soon be sharing screen space in an upcoming film are apparently bonding over an unusual topic. A source from the sets tells us that Vivek is keen on getting some body art and is seeking advice from Sanjay, who sports numerous tattoos on his body.

“Vivek was contemplating getting inked, but was undecided about it. In the past, he has settled on many designs and when the time came to actually get inked, he’d back off. But he was maha-impressed when he saw the art work on Sanjay’s body,” says the source.

Sanjay apparently explained the entire process to Vivek includingall the little details. “In between shots, Sanjay would tell Vivek about the various kinds of art work he can select from, the meaning behind some famous and popular tattoos and how to go about picking the right art work. He also told Vivek that he shouldn’t get a tattoo just because everyone around him seems to sport one,” says the source, adding that Sanjay truly believes that getting inked is a big decision in one’s life.

“Sanjay sports some intricate designs and he did a lot of research before getting each tattoo. The way a tattoo finally turns out depends on the technology used to get it carved and that’s what he told Vivek too. He even shared the addresses and contact details of some top notch tattoo artists in India and abroad with Vivek,” says the source.

Vivek’s wife also sports a tattoo on her back and the actor apparently is keen on dedicating his tattoo to her. But no, he has no intention to carve his better half’s name on his body. At least, not yet. “Vivek doesn’t want to just carve her name on his body. He wants it to be unique and something that will hold a lot of meaning for both of them and symbolise their love for each other,” adds the source.

Vivek steps into Abhay’s shoes

Sanjay Kandhuri's sequel to Ek Challis Ki Last Local has just got a new name and a new hero to go along with it. The 2007 film that starred Abhay Deol in the lead catapulted Kandhuri's career ahead. However, the director has now decided to give his winning cast a makeover and finalised Vivek Oberoi for the lead.

A source informed, "Kandhurihas named his next project Gyarah Challis Ki Last Metro. Recently, he visited Wai where Vivek Oberoi was shooting for his film. Kandhuri, after his initial success wanted to make a bigger film with an A-list actor. That's the reason he approached Vivek."

"The sequel will be a comic thriller but unlike the first that was based in Mumbai, this one will be based in Delhi. Instead of the local train, the protagonist will miss the metro," added the source.

Incidentally, Vivek Oberoi's close friend Amit Chandra will produce the film.

When contacted, Sanjay Kandhuri said, "Yes I have finalised Vivek for my next film but it's too soon to divulge further details."

Vivek Oberoi Injured on Set

There are many actors who prefer not to do their own stunts because they want to stay safe and want someone else to take the pain while they take the credit on screen. However, there are some Bollywood actors who feel that they should go ahead and do their own stunts as well. Vivek Oberoi is among the list of Bollywood actors apart from Akshay Kumar who prefer to do his own stunts but this time he has had a bad fall while shooting for Zilla Ghaziabad.

The shooting was going on in Wai and Vivek is very much excited about this movie. The shooting included few fight sequences where Vivek Oberoi is kicking some bad guys. All was fine till Vivek Oberoi decided to try a stunt where he had to jump from the fourth floor of a building. Obviously there were harnesses that were attached and everything was going on very smooth when during one of the sequences the harness snapped while Vivek Oberoi was in mid-air. Vivek was almost on the second floor when this happened which means that he fell down straight from the second floor to the ground level. However, there was lot of muck below which safeguarded him to some extent but it is reported that he has badly injured his back.

Vivek Oberoi is already into back problems since he has been working on his fitness and been lifting lot of weights. To make his back problems worse this accident can really make him feel horrible about his back pain. However, Vivek Oberoi continued shooting and completed the sequence on time without disrupting the schedule which is very kind of him. Once the shooting is over, Vivek will come down to Mumbai for medical treatment and to get his back in shape for more work.

I’m done apologising to Salman: Vivek Oberoi

After literally going down on his knees, asking forgiveness from Salman Khan, struggling actor Vivek Oberoi has decided not to plead for friendship with the miffed Khan. And not just this, the actor is also boasting about his physical strength over Salman stating that should there be a fight between the two, he will hold his ground against Khan. Now, that sure sound like an invitation to fight!Ever since the two locked horns over Aishwarya who is now Mrs Bachchan, there have been endless reports about an eternal rivalry between the two.

And even though a very desperate Vivek tried to bury the hatchet by asking for a public apology, Salman adamantly snubbed all his attempts to let go of the past.Nevertheless, with Vivek now realising Sallu’s unrelenting and unforgiving attitude, he is trying to regain his lost pride by openly stating, “I`m done apologising to Salman.”Well, it so happened that Vivek was a guest at a show, where he openly talked about his rivalry with Salman.

Talking about how he felt about the popular ‘idiot’ tag given to him by Salman, Vivek said, “I take that as a compliment, you know `3 Idiots`, I would like be the fourth”.And hinting on his intentions to fight Salman, the actor said, “I’ve had my share of fights and I think I can hold my own. I don`t think it`s about a size of a bicep, it`s the intent and speed of a fist hitting a vital point that determines a fight.”

Everyone knows I suck: Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Oberoi, who’s gone through a drought in his career off late as a result of his fallouts with big stars like Salman Khan, Bachchans, Sanjay Dutt, is geared up to bounce back.

With ‘Kurbaan’, ‘Prince’ and Ram Gopal Varma's ‘Rakta Charitra’ in his kitty, Vivek looks elated to make a comeback after having wasted so many years in Bollywood. Now, we would be seeing a humble Vivek who’ll be letting only his work speaks for him.

Vivek told ‘DNA’, "I have wasted five years out of the seven I have spent in the industry. It's like the seven-year itch for me now. As I turn eight in the profession, I realise that I should only let my work speak and not my mouth. I can feel the hunger to perform under my belly again. I have let my audiences down who have showered their love for me."

Vivek, who has hits like ‘Company’, ‘Sathiya’ to his credit added,

Saif-Kareena’s royal ignore to Vivek Oberoi!

With the sizzling and steamy promos of ‘Kurbaan’ showcasing the intimate chemistry between Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, buzz has it that Vivek Oberoi, who plays a crucial role in the flick, has been completely sidelined by Saifeena. According to the latest Bollywood news, ever since the promos of ‘Kurbaan’ have hit the stands, all one finds is the striking on-screen chemistry between the real-life couple whereas the character of Vivek is totally ignored.

However, with the down and out actor totally forgotten from the promotional rushes, it seems Vivek is quite upset but has passively accepted his fate of not being a B-town hot celebrity in comparison to the popular Bollywood couple ‘Saifeena’. Well, whatever may be the reason; one thing is for sure that the actor knows the fact that a good film can give a new lease of life to his sagging fortunes in Bollywood.

B'Day Special..Rare Childhood Photos of Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Oberoi was born on the 3rd of September,1976 and attended Mayo college in Ajmer. At an actors' workshop in London he was spotted by none other than the director of NYU who (unsurprisingly) whisked Vivek off to New York, where he completed his Masters Degree in film acting. Back home in India Vivek worked as scriptwriter and bought his first car with the money he made from that.
