Nana Patekar goes back to school

Nana Patekar spent three formative years of his life in Samartha Vidyalaya, Dadar West. And at the school reunion held just outside Kalina University on Saturday afternoon, the actor told the media as much. While his peers spoke about the ‘kindness’ of their former teachers, Nana refuted it and said, “They were not so good to me.

They beat me up. But it’s because of their beating that I am who I am today. I have chosen the right path because of them.” Nana also spoke about the school peon Pandurang Nitorey who taught him ‘punctuality’. “I learnt everything from this school,” the actor concluded before leaving the stage with tears in his eyes.

Neil Nitin Mukesh, while shooting for Susi Ganesan’s remake of Tamil superhit Thiruttu Payalem, Shortcut Romeo, looked strikingly similar to yet another Bollywood actor. And this was partly because of the actor’s newly grown mane and beard.

Neil, who is playing a grey character in the film co-starring Ameesha Patel had his reasons to wait two-and-a-half months for this new rough look. “I follow method acting,” revealed the actor, and added, “My character in Shortcut Romeo required me to look rough. And I did not want to wear a wig.

The days of wigs have gone, I think. Also, wearing a wig affects one’s acting. Thankfully, my hair grew fast”
