When Sanjay Dutt wept like a baby

Behind his tough exterior, there is a sensitive guy in Sanjay Dutt - a man of golden heart.

Apparently, Sanjay broke down while shooting an emotionally charged scene for Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Department’.

Sanjay will be seen in a different light in ‘Department’. According to a source close to the unit, Dutt could not stop weeping even after completing the scene.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “Sanjay broke down during the scene and wept like a baby. We`ve never seen him like this. It was an emotional scene between his character and his on-screen wife Laxmi Manchu. Ramu went through the normal briefing. But when the camera was switched on, Sanjay just couldn`t stop crying. Ramu was taken aback. He had never handled such an emotional performance before and asked his assistants what to do next.”

When contacted, Ram Gopal Varma confirmed the news and said, “I didn`t know how to handle it! The emotional angst Sanjay displayed for that scene left me shaken. He honestly startled me! We were doing a critical scene, where Sanjay had to be teary-eyed. In spite of knowing him for so many years, I never expected to see this side of him. I think it is his most dramatic and powerful performance to date.”
