Shakira to perform at a private gig in India


After a spate of international pop icons performing in India, there is a buzz that the Latin-American sensation Shakira is India bound.

Sources confirm that the Colombian singer, who became a household name post her 2010 FIFA World Cup official theme song ‘Waka Waka’, will perform at a private function at DLF Golf Course in Gurgaon in the coming weeks.

Talking to a daily, a source said, "She will perform as part of the week-long gala to celebrate the birthday of KP Singh, Chairman, DLF Group. Shakira will be here on November 14. The celebrations will kick-off in Jaipur with a performance by Adnan Sami. Singh will also release a book written by him at DLF Promenade Mall."

Grapevine has it that some Bollywood celebrities would also be a part of the gig. The names being talked about include that of Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

However, there is no official confirmation about SRK and Hrithik’s presence.
