John Abraham gets offer from Hollywood

After catching Bollywood’s fancy, John Abraham’s six-feet-hundred-kilo form has captured Hollywood’s attention, too. Abraham, 38, has received an offer from Sylvester Stallone and Gerard Butler’s action trainer-turned-filmmaker JJ Perry, to work in his forthcoming film.

see the trailers of my film Force, and he called to say he had not seen any Indian actor who could physically look like this, and that he’d love to work with me. I am going to Los Angeles in December to fix up everything,” he says.

So is he thrilled about the offer?

“I am not one of those actors who’d rave about working in a Hollywood film. I am proud to be an Indian and to work here,” says Abraham, whose film Force opened on Friday.

This is not the first time Hollywood’s come his way.

“In the past, when Water entered the Academy, I did a get a chance to do films there. But I want to be known as John Abraham from India, of India and made by the people of India. John Abraham may sound like a Hollywood  name, but the guy is a true Indian at heart,” he adds.

The actor says he has paid a big price to win the title of ‘Action Abraham’.

“(While shooting for Force), I’ve broken both my shins, both my elbows, bruised my back and developed blood clots in my right arm and chest. I also have a crack in my skull. So practically I have damaged every bone in the body.”

Bring on the controversy!
Makers of John Abraham-starrer Force may run into trouble with some hard-hitting dialogue in the film, but the team is unfazed. One such line, delivered by John’s character, ACP Yashvardhan, goes, ‘Government Kasab par 2 crore kharch kar rahi hai jab ki humne wo kaam 200 goliyon se kar dia hai’.

“The point here is not to rake up a controversy but to make a point,” says John.

“(If trouble arises), we’re ready to deal with it. It is an inner angst that’s there in every Indian’s heart. We have just voiced it. The dialogue will remain, no matter what,” says Shah.
