The mystery girl on the poster of Hate Story is now revealed! We indeed guessed it right! The backless girl, who is posing seductively on the lap of a man with a pistol tucked in her jeans, is Bengali siren Paoli Dam, who also stars in the film in a lead role.
The titillating first look of Hate Story created a lot of buzz because of the mystery woman on it, thanks to Paoli Dam and her dare-bare act. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the movie Hate Story is based on a story of woman’s vengeance and how she uses her sexuality as a lethal weapon against her foes. The film also stars Nikhil Dwivedi and Gulshan Devaiah.
The sensuous Bengali actress Paoli Dam may be new to Bollywood, but she isn’t a rookie. Paoli Dam started her career with Bengali film Agneepariksha in 2006. She came into limelight in 2009 when she won several accolades for her Bengali film, Kaalbela, directed by the notable Bengali director Gautam Ghose.
She has even worked with the maverick Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh in Shob Charitro Kalponik. In the film she shared screen space with Bipasha Basu. But Paoli Dam stirred controversies because of her front nude scenes in the film Chatrak, which was also showcased in the Cannes Film Festival 2010.
For Hate Story, the makers were hunting for a young woman who could meet two basic criteria - she should be an accomplished actress, and she needed to be uninhibited about her sexual energy. Paoli fits in well here.
