Kissing on screen makes me nervous: Bipasha

Come November, and Bipasha Basu will experience filmi horror again as she starts shooting for Raaz 3. She had starred in Raaz back in 2002, opposite her then-beau Dino Morea and returns for Part 3 is being helmed by Vikram Bhatt as ‘serial kisser’ Emraan Hashmi’s sultry co-star. “Why have

you (media) given Emraan this tag?” laughs the Bollywood star. “These days, everyone is kissing in movies. I did too, for the first time in Jism (2003). It didn’t give me the jitters because I was locking lips with my boyfriend at the time (John Abraham).”

Although Bipasha has also kissed Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), will she be fine puckering up with Emraan too if needs be? “As a professional, I have no problems with such a scene if a storyline absolutely demands it,” she says, but admits that while our audience are used to kisses on screen by now, she herself is not comfortable doing it. “Kissing is the first expression of affection for human beings, so it’s actually no big deal. But still, I get all anxious before kissing scenes.”

But she admits that she is yet to start work on her character or the look. “I always told them that when we work together again, it has to be a perfect script and role. Raaz 3 is that, and I can promise you that you’re going to see a Bipasha you’ve never seen before,” she says.

She’s been busy with Players, Abbas-Mustan’s remake of The Italian Job, and Roland Joffe’s Singularity. Recently, there have been talks about a new film with Shyam Benegal. “It’s an interesting script, but nothing has been finalised,” says Bipasha, admitting that she’s just shot for the “sweet, urban Jodi Breakers” (earlier titled Shaadi Fast Forward) opposite R Madhavan.
